Resurrection
Jul. 9th, 2018 05:28 pmI've dug this out of my pile of abandoned internet items haha... how tall is that pile now... a tower...
I recently plunged through a new-ish manga called 高嶺と花 (Takane to Hana)
It's so cute! Focuses on the sarcastic (???) relationship between a high school girl and her 11-years-older omiai partner.
It's so weird because he's 26 (at least??), she's 16??? It makes me think about love and how there are so many variables involved.
Cus I srsly don't know any 26-year-old anything that would look at a 16-year-old anything haha
I think the author does a great job of blasting expectations for a relationship that in any other genre would be so wrong, and all the humor is so adorable!
It gets to me bc I'm mid-20's now too... well, i'm still thinking about playing around all the time. So it's mostly morbid curiosity for me
Anyway it's cute! That's my rec of the decade
The other series i have been binging is 7 Seeds. It is probably the best post-apocalyptic-setting fiction anything (this includes books, films, tv, etc) I've seen. It's probably so impressive to me because I have zero background in science so most of the details about what might happen in the future (like... okay i don't think bacteria can chase people around like insects??? but what do I know) go all the way over my head. but the characters are so varied and their arcs are so heart-wrenching that it really throws me for a loop, and it's great to see a story like this find real success, especially domestic success. Good for art that teaches people what it means to be 'good'!
And that's my other recommendation of the decade
cus it has been a decade (okay close enough) since I posted on this acc hahahaha -dies laughing-
ah well it looks like there will have to be another decade before I post again 呵呵
Will be using this as a guinea pig for a nascent idea, hopefully it ends up going somewhere
once again, 加油 to myself~
